Ghost Mannequin Product Photography – Glasgow, Scotland
As photographers based in Glasgow, we have a lot of experience with Ghost Mannequin product photography, which is one of the most popular ways of photographing clothing and garments for display on websites and e-commerce.
The technique involves initially photographing the clothing on a mannequin and then digitally removing it so that it is invisible. This gives the impression that a ‘ghost’ is wearing the clothing, hence the name.
Although the fished effect is quite simple in appearance, a lot of extra work goes into creating the ghost mannequins. We spend a great deal of time preparing the clothing for the photography which often includes steaming to remove creases and making sure they fit correctly on the mannequin. We also often do extra retouching.
