During the Coronavirus restrictions it’s been surprising just how many clients have required PR Photography.
When Food Warehouse were looking for PR Photographers to photograph their new store openings in Glasgow, Ayr and Kilmarnock, they asked us if we could do this for them whilst still adhering to the Covid 19 restrictions.
The first part of the shoot was fairly simple as they wanted a range of photographs and video to show the inside of the store. Social distancing was easy as this could be done before the store opened and the large open interior meant it was possible to keep a safe distance from any staff who were present.

The brief required a range of interior shots to show the inside of the store.
The second part of the PR Photography was a little trickier, as it involved taking some shots of the staff outside their Glasgow, Ayr and Kilmarnock stores. Usually, when taking shots of groups of staff we like to keep everyone close together without too many gaps but as that wasn’t possible we had to find a creative solution.
There were four steel posts at the front of the store protecting the entrance. Usually, we’d try an avoid something like this but instead we decided to make them a feature and place a member of staff next to each one, which also helped to socially distance them. Once we added the managers to the front of the shot it made for a strong composition.

Usually, we’d have all the staff quite close together with the branding above but due to the need for social distancing we had to space everyone out.
The final part of the shoot was to have all the images and video delivered by noon the same day, so The Food Warehouse could get all their PR and publicity up on social media and press release sent out.
Thankfully, that’s one thing that hasn’t changed during lockdown, so we were able to supply these on time.

We arrived early to get a range of shots including exteriors of the store.
